SC allows release of Italian ship ‘Enrica Lexie’
Supreme Court allowed Italian ship Enrica Lexie to leave Indian waters but the owner of the vessel has to execute a bond of 3 crore rupees before Registrar General of Kerala High Court. The apex court also allowed four marines and six crew members on board to leave Indian shores along with the vessel. Italian government and the vessel owner assured the Court that the marines and crew members will be available when required by Indian legal authorities. The apex court held that its order will not affect investigations and prosecution in the case of the killing of two Indian fishermen.
