The plan aims to improve spatial rural planning. It intends to transform the villages and provide better quality of life. Also, it aims to implement effective land planning. The RADFI includes the Village Planning Scheme, which is currently operating under the Town Planning Schemes. The Village Planning Scheme is implemented in urban villages.
The plan aims to increase ease of living in rural areas. Its main intention is to reduce their migration towards the cities. The plan believes that the villagers will not move towards the urban areas if the same facilities and infrastructure, opportunities for livelihood and resources are available in villages.
Focus of the plan
The plan mainly focuses on the typology of villages. This includes disaster occurrence, hill areas, urban – peri – urban areas, etc. It includes the land use patterns followed in the village. It will focus on improving e – governance in villages through spatial management.
The scheme will increase the economy of the villages. This in turn will improve the socio – economic development in rural areas. The scheme will supplement other schemes such as RURBAN Mission and SVAMITVA scheme. The SVAMITVA Scheme is also implemented by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. The RURBAN Mission is implemented by the Ministry of Rural Development.
What is the plan?
The leading institutions in the country will participate in implementing the plan. The institutions will be supported by NIC and NRSC. Mostly architectural institutions have been selected.
