Several Ministries or Departments or Agencies of Government of India have instituted various civilian awards, for recognizing people who have made exceptional contribution and excelled in their fields.

Rashtriya Puruskar Portal

A common ‘Rashtriya Puruskar Portal’ has been developed by Government, to invite nominations for various awards, in order to bring all the Awards of different Ministries or Departments or Agencies under one digital platform. This portal will help in ensuring transparency and public partnership (Jan Bhagidari).

Aim of the portal

The Rashtriya Puruskar Portal has been created with the aim of facilitating citizens to nominate individuals or organizations for various Awards constituted by Government of India.

Which nominations or recommendations are open?

Presently, nominations/recommendations for understated Awards are open:

Padma Awards- For this, nomination is open till 15/09/2022
Sardar Patel National Unity Award- For this, nomination is open till 31/07/2022
Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award- For this, Nomination is open till 16/06/2022
Jeevan Raksha Padak series of Awards- For this, Nomination is open till 30/09/2022
Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Telecom Skill Excellence Award- For this, Nomination is open till 16/06/2022.

Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award

This award was formally known as “National Adventure Awards”. It is the highest adventure sports honour in India. It has been named after Tenzing Norgay, who was among first two individuals to reach summit of Mount Everest in 1953. The award is given annually by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Recipients are honoured for their “outstanding achievement in adventure activities on land, air and sea” over last three years.

Jeevan Raksha Padak series of awards

These awards are presented to a person for his meritorious act of human nature in saving life of a person. It is given in three categories, namely, Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, Jeevan Raksha Padak and Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak. Persons of all walks of life are eligible for Jeevan Raksha Padak Awards.
