Rajinder K Pachauri passes away

Rajinder K Pachauri, who recently passed away, was the founder and chief executive of the New-Delhi based research institute, the Energy Resources Institute (TERI).

He was elected Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in 2002, which was established by the World Meteorological Organisation and the United Nations Environment Programme. He had received the Nobel Peace Prize for the year 2007, on behalf of the IPCC, along with former U.S. Vice-President Al Gore.
