PJ Kurien becomes Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha
Congress leader PJ Kurien has been elected as the Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh moved the motion for the election of Kurien.
In case of leave or absence of Chairman of Rajya Sabha (the Vice-President of India), Deputy Chaiman of Rajya Sabha acts as Presiding Officer of the House.
