NHPC commissions 50 mw Wind project in Rajasthan

India’s largest hydropower generation company National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) has commissioned its 50 MW wind power project (WPP) in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
The project has achieved synchronization with the national grid in October, 2016. NHPC has signed a power purchase agreement with Inox wind and Rajasthan government to set up 25 turbines of 2 MW for the project.
NHPC is engaged in construction of 5 power projects aggregating to a total installed capacity of 4290 MW including 1000 MW (Pakal Dul hydroelectric project) executed through JV company.
Besides, its 10 projects of 7,151 MW are awaiting clearances for their implementation including three projects of 1,186 MW to be executed through subsidiary/joint venture companies.
