Marine Mega Fauna Stranding Management Guidelines

The Marine Mega Fauna Stranding Management Guidelines is a set of guidelines issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for conservation of marine mega fauna and their habitats. It addresses the issues of stranding of marine animals due to various reasons like injury from marine vessels, infections, starvations, unusual weather, etc. The large number of cetacean deaths (9,000- 10,000 per year) along the Indian Ocean coast was discussed in Rajya Sabha recently.
