InterNations Expat Insider 2022 Survey – Highlights
Mexico has been placed at top position in terms of expats in “Expat Insider 2022 survey”. It is followed by Indonesia and Taiwan. The Expat Insider 2022 survey was conducted by InterNations from February 1 to 28, 2022. Survey was conducted across 52 countries.
Top 10 countries for Expats:
Top 10 countries for Expats are: Mexico, Indonesia, Taiwan, Portugal, Spain, UAE, Vietnam, Thailand, Australia and Singapore (in that order) Expats find it easy to settle in Mexico and Indonesia as well as other top 10 countries. They are happy with personal finances in Mexico. But they are unhappy about the low quality of life in Indonesia. In Taiwan, they get high quality of life, ease of personal finances and ease of settling in. USA has been ranked at 14th place, Canada at 23rd while United Kingdom is ranked below India, at 37.
Bottom 10 countries for Expats:
Bottom 10 countries for Expats are- Kuwait, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Japan, South Africa, Turkey, Italy and Malta. Hong Kong, New Zealand and Kuwait turned out to be worst places for expats.
Ranking based on other parameters:
Based on the quality of life, top 5 counties are- Spain, Taiwan, Austria, Portugal and the UAE. India has been ranked low in the Quality-of-Life Index. India has placed at bottom 10 spot for all subcategories except for Health & Well-Being, in which it is ranked at 19th position. For air quality, India was ranked as worst country by expats.
