International North-South Transport Corridor

International North-South Transport Corridor or INSTC is a 7,200 km long multi-mode network spanning across 13 countries. It was first proposed in 2000 to improve connectivity between India, Central Asia and Russia. On Chabahar Day, India called for the inclusion of the Chabahar port in the INSTC. It also called for expansion of project’s membership to include Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. The Chabahar Day event saw representatives from Afghanistan, Armenia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Russia.
