International Day of Education

January 24 is observed as the International Day of Education every year by UNESCO. It celebrates the role of education for Development and Peace. The theme for this year’s International Day of Education is “LEARNING FOR PEOPLE, PLANET, PROSPERITY AND PEACE”.  On December 2018, the United Nations (UN) General Assembly adopted a resolution, which declared January 24 as ‘International Day of Education’.

This year’s celebration is the second-year of observing the day and it has considered Education and Learning as the greatest Renewable Resource and it reaffirms that the Education is a Fundamental Right.
