Indian Air Force airlifted passengers to and fro Kargil

Indian Air Force has airlifted 187 stranded passengers to and fro Kargil in Jammu and Kashmir. Air Force airlifted 71 passengers from Jammu to Kargil, 69 from Srinagar to Kargil, 27 from Kargil to Srinagar and 20 from Kargil to Jammu. The AN-32 Kargil courier service operates regularly to provide the stranded passengers of Ladakh region, which usually remains isolated from rest of the country due to the closure of Srinagar-Leh national highway for winter months due to heavy snowfall.
