India and China agree on complete disengagement along LAC
On July 11, 2020, Indian and Chinese Armies agreed to completely disengage along LAC (Line of Actual Control) after senior officials of the countries held a meeting through video conference. The countries have framed new terms under which they will safeguard their respective borders.

India and China have ensured complete disengagement along LAC and full restoration of peace and tranquility in the border areas.
India and China have created buffer zones between their borders. This was one of the long-standing demands of India. The zones are to be created in hot springs, Gogra and Galwan Valley.
Changes to be made by India
The Indo-Tibet Border Police (ITBP) of the army is now responsible for patrolling 3,488 km Line of Actual Control. This is an additional responsibility of ITBP after Galwan clash. Around 10% of ITBP personnel are to be deployed in patrolling of LAC.
WMCC of Indo-China
The Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) of Indo-China border met for the 16th time to conclude the stand-off.
It was established in 2012 to manage border areas and also to exchange views on strengthening communication and cooperation. It was involved in military-to-military conversation to disengage and de-escalate the situation since the stand-off.
