G – 20 Startup Engagement Group

India is to host the G-20 summit to be held in 2023. To make the summit a success, several engagement groups are being formed. The group comprises representatives from Non – Government organizations. There are different engagement groups such as Business 20, Labour 20, Civil 20, Parliament 20, Science 20, Think 20, Urban 20, Startup 20, and SAI 20. As the name suggests the startup 20 Engagement group has representatives from leading startups in the G-20 countries.

About G – 20 Start-Up Engagement Group

  • Recently, the Startup Engagement Group of G – 20 held its inception meeting in Hyderabad.
  • Startup 20 focuses on innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration
  • During the meeting, the representatives made recommendations on innovation and entrepreneurship
  • Apart from the G20 members, nine special invitees also attended the meet
  • Discussions were made on how to support startups and fill in the gaps between the startups and corporates
  • The representatives also discussed inculcating innovative methodologies in startups
  • G-20 members are planning to set up a Global Innovation Centre to help startups from different countries form collaborations

The objective of the Startup Engagement Group

It will aim to bridge the gaps between the startups of the G-20 members and the other emerging economies in the world. Also, it will support government organizations willing to work with startups and support them.
