Expert Committee constituted by UGC

On April 12, 2020, the University Grants Commission has constituted an expert committee to recommend the use of e-resources and enhance online education system in the country.

Highlights

The committee will recommend solutions to gather e-resources in a single platform and also to enhance online education in the country. This will help students staying home under lock down.

Significance

The GoI has been inviting suggestions and sharing ideas to boost e-learning in the country. This is being done to help students and teachers spend quality time improving their knowledge, to monitor research and development on COVID-19 related solutions.

The Bharat Padhe Online portal was recently launched to encourage sharing of ideas between GoI and academic experts.

Exam Delay

UGC had also constituted an expert committee to assess the exam delays due to the lock down. The committee constitutes of 7 members and will work on solutions to counter impact of COVID-19 on semester exams of several universities.
