Sriharikota: ISRO’s PSLV-C43 rocket successfully puts earth observation satellite HysIS, 30 foreign satellites into orbit

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has launched the PSLV-C43/HysIS mission from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. Mission used a polar satellite launch vehicle (PSLV) puts HysIS – India’s own earth observation satellite into orbit. The satellite was accompanied by 30 other satellites developed by various nations including 23 from the US.

Maratha Reservation Bill passed giving 16% reservation to Maratha community in govt. jobs and admission in govt. institutions

Introduction of the bill was preceded by the action taken report on the State Backward Class Commission’s recommendations for Maratha quota. The draft bill said the government felt 16 per cent reservation to Marathas was “justified”
Navies of India and UK holding ‘Konkan 18’ exercise in Mumbai

Nine day long KONKAN-2018 (Nov 28-Dec 6) off Goa has taken off with units participating from both navies. The aim of the exercise this year would be on anti-air warfare, anti-surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, visit board search and seizure (VBSS) and seamanship evolutions.

Air forces of the United States and India are scheduled to participate in a 12-day joint exercise ‘Cope India 2019’ from December 3 to 14 at air force station Kalaikunda and Air Station Arjan Singh (Panagarh) in West Bengal.
