CIL partners with AIM to boost Innovation & Entrepreneurship Initiatives

On 19th June 2020, a Statement of Intent (SOI) was signed and exchanged during a virtual e-summit according to which Coal India Limited (CIL) has partnered with Atal Innovation Mission (AIM). The strategic partnership is to provide support to various entrepreneurship initiatives and innovation programs of AIM.

AIM Entrepreneurship & Innovation Building Initiatives

  • The AIM conducts various programs at the school level (ATL-Atal Tinkering Labs), institutional levels (AIC-Atal Incubation Centres) for building an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country.
  • For Industry level: ANIC – Atal New India Challenges, and ARISE- Applied Research and Innovation for MSMEs.
  • Along with rural India, in Tier-2 and 3 cities: ACIC- Atal Community Innovation Centres work towards stimulating innovations.

Importance of the CIL-AIM Partnership

The partnership will focus on motivating the talented youths of the country in order to create an AtmaNirbhar Bharat. For this, CIL will adopt a certain number of ATL based schools in the country where training sessions for teachers will be conducted so that the teachers could be able to provide mentoring support to the students.

Close to areas of operation of CIL (generally in Tier 2, 3 cities, or in rural areas), CIL will support the youths by adopting programs of the ACIC, such as by hosting innovation-based events, etc. As CIL is operating in remote areas of the country, this will help the youths of these unserved and under-served regions.

In the future, as the youths understand the power of innovation and entrepreneurship, local jobs will be created that will help in creating a sustainable AtmaNirbhar Bharat.
