Chhattisgarh launches Fortified Rice Distribution Scheme
On the eve of Statehood Day celebrations, on November 1, 2020, the State Government of Chhattisgrah launched Fortified Rice Distribution Scheme.
About Fortified Rice Distribution Scheme
The scheme was launched to reduce malnutrition and anaemia. Under the scheme, fortified rice is distributed through fair price shops. The fortified rice is a mixture of Vitamin-B12, iron and folic acid. It helps to control malnutrition and anaemia.
Swami Atmanand Government English Medium School Scheme
Apart from Fortified Rice distribution scheme, the State Government also launched Swami Atmanand Government English Medium School Scheme. Under the scheme, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh inaugurated Rs 130 crore Swami Atmanand Government English Medium School Scheme. Under the scheme, 52 English medium schools are to be started. These schools will have computer and science lab, state-of-the-art library and lab. These schools will also have the facility of online education.
Other initiatives
The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh also initiated the following programmes along with these two schemes
- Mukhyamantri Sahari Slum Swasthya Yojana was inaugurated
- The third instalment of Rs 1500 crores for the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana was released.
- A 132/33 KV power sub station in the district of Bijapur and a 87.5 km long electricity line to supply 23 remote villages in the naxal affected regions were inaugurated.
Mukhyamantri Sahari Slum Swathya Yojana
It is an urban slum health Yojana. Under the scheme, the people in urban slum are to be provided with free health checks, counselling, medicines and treatment. They are to be provided with family planning counselling, resources and family planning measures.
Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana
It was launched to ensure minimum income availability to farmers. The scheme will bring more areas under cultivation. Under the scheme, financial aid is to be transferred to the farmers’ accounts directly.
