Centre for wetland conservation and management

Centre for wetland conservation and management is a dedicated centre to address the issues of research and knowledge gap and application of integrated approaches for conservation of wetlands in India. It is the first of its kind in India and is being established under the National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management. The announcement of its establishment comes in light of the World Wetland Day. 4.6% of India is wetland and there are 42 Ramsar sites in India.
