CARA celebrates 5th Annual Day 

On 15th January 2020, Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) celebrated its 5th Annual Day in New Delhi which was attended by Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Child Development of India, Rabindra Panwar along with other senior officials of the Ministry, its associated Statutory/ Autonomous Bodies and representatives from the States and Union Territories.

Under the provisions of Juvenile Justice of Care and Protection of Children Act, 2015, CARA was designated as a Statutory Body on 15th January 2016 and it is now an apex body of government for promoting purpose and facilitating In-country adoption and is the designated Central Authority for Inter-country Adoption.

In 2019, CARA organized many training workshops and programs at the state and national levels for all the stakeholders of the adoption program and it has carried out a number of programs for creating awareness and sensitization of the general public by reaching the citizens by conducting interactive programs through social media platforms. Across the country, CARA is giving special importance to needy children in various Child Care Institutions.
