Buddh International Circuit

  • The Buddh International Circuit (BIC) at Greater Noida is set to make its debut in India on October 30 with the Airtel Indian Grand Prix.
  • It is the Formula One racing circuit, which has a length of 5.14 km and an area of 875 acres. It has been developed by the Jaypee Sports International Ltd. (JPSI).
  • The FIA will issue the final Grade-I certification of the track only a week prior to the October 30 GP.
  • Its worth note that the circuits was previously in controversy over its land. The lands of some three hundred farmers were purchased by the state government. Last month the farmers had expressed dissatisfaction with the project and threatened to dismantle the circuit “with force if necessary”, demanding more money and stating that they felt the land should have been zoned for industrial estates to generate more employment in the area.
