Black browed babbler

Black browed babbler (Malacocincla perspicillata) was spotted for the first time in many years in October last year. It was sighted in South Kalimantan province in Indonesian Borneo. This is the first sighting in more than a century. The only specimen of this bird was collected by Germany naturalist Carl A.L.M Schwaner in 1843-1848. This specimen is currently displayed in the Naturalis Biodiversity Centre, Netherlands. Not much is known about this species.
