Batik

Batik is a traditional Indonesian method of wax-resistant dyeing used mainly on fabric. It was officially recognised as a “Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity” by UNESCO in 2009. Recently, the Indonesian village of Jenggot was inundated with crimson-coloured water after floods hit nearby batik factory. This village is located near Pekalongan city, which is well-known for batik manufacturing. Last month, another village near this city witnessed flooding by bright green coloured water.
