Animal Welfare Board of India

The Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) is a statutory advisory body that was established under the Section 4 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. It provides advisory service to the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandries and Dairying. It conferred 14 Prani Mitra awards and JeevDaya awards 2021 to individuals, corporates and organisations for their contribution to the animal welfare. These awards are conferred during the Vasant Panchami, which is celebrated as “Jiv Jantu Kalyan Divas” by AWBI.
