ALMA telescope

The Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) is an astronomical interferometer in the Atacama Desert in northern Chile. This array observes electromagnetic radiation at millimetre and submillimeter wavelengths. It has been fully operational since 2013. It had recently photographed the oldest spiral galaxy – BRI 1335-0417. This telescope had earlier captured the image of another galaxy that was formerly considered as the oldest spiral galaxy – GNz11.
