The program should not be broadcasted between 12 AM (midnight) and 6 AM.

What do the Guidelines say?

  • The private TV satellite channels should keep a record of the telecast. The telecast record should be submitted in 90 days. The record shall be provided to the Electronic Media Monitoring Centre that operates under the I&B ministry
  • A monthly report should be submitted on the Broadcast Seva Portal
  • Themes of the document shall be in education, health and family welfare, rural development, science and technology, the welfare of weaker sections, environmental protection, heritage, culture, literacy, national integration, and welfare of women

The advisory applies to all channels including wildlife and foreign channels. However, these advisories are not applicable to the channels streaming live telecasts as that of the sports channel. Also, it is not applicable to religious channels; provided the religious channel is broadcasting devotional, yoga, or spiritual content for more than 12 hours.
