Abdur Rahman (Afghanistan)

Abdur Rahman  was Amir of Afghanistan who was placed on the throne of Afghanistan in 1880 with the support of the English politician who ruled from 1880 till his death in 1901, maintaining friendly relations both with England and Russia. He was also an able administrator who maintained the integrity of Afghanistan. It was during his time that the Durand line was drawn up in 1893 marking the indo-afghan boundary.
