Aatmanirbharta

Aatmanirbharta is a hindi word meaning self-reliance. The word was chosen as the Hindi Word of the Year 2020 by Oxford Language. The term was chosen in consultation with a panel of Hindi language experts- Kritika Agrawal, Dr Poonam Nigam Sahay and Imogen Foxell. The designation reflects the ethos of the preceding year when it developed into a term of cultural significance. The term gained prominence after PM’s address to the nation in May 2020. In 2019, ‘Samvidhaan’ was the Oxford Hindi word of the year.
