4th Round of RCS-UDAN Launched

After completion of three successful rounds, to further enhance the connectivity to regional and remote areas of the country, the Ministry of Civil Aviation, on Tuesday, 3rd December 2019, has launched the 4th round of the Regional Connectivity Scheme-Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (RCS-UDAN).
The priority areas for the 4th Round will be the North Eastern Region of India, newly formed union territories of Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir, hilly regions of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand and union territories of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.
Under the 4th round, the Viability Gap Funding (VGF) cap for more than 20 seaters (category 2/3 aircraft) has been increased for operating RCS flights to the priority areas under this round.
VGF is the financial support provided under the scheme for operating RCS flights to the selected airline operator.
Also, operation of seaplane and helicopter will be allowed under the 4th round of RCS-UDAN.
