Little Foot

Little Foot is the almost-intact Australopithecus fossil skeleton found in the cave system of Sterkfontein in South Africa. Australopithecus has traits of both apes and humans. It considered to be the direct forebear of homo sapiens. It lived in South Africa around 3.67 million years ago. Recently, a state of the art scanning technology was used to scan Little Foot’s cranial vault (upper part of braincase) and mandible (lower jaw) to attain valuable insights into the biology of Australopithecus.
