David Cox
Sir David Cox has been awarded with the first International Prize in Statistics, which will be presented to him in July 2017 at the World Statistics Congress in Marrakech. The award carries $75,000 and is considered the highest honor in its field. It recognizes an individual or team for major achievements using statistics to advance science, technology and human welfare. It also helps to raise media and public awareness of the growing importance of statistics to modern life and promotes understanding of the myriad and diverse ways statistics affects the lives of every person alive today.
