As per census 2011 total tribal population of India is 104,281,034.Madhya Pradesh consists of 1,53,16,784 tribes which is almost 21.1% of the state population. Bhil tribe concentrated mostly in western Madhya Pradseh in Districts Jhabua,Dhar,Barwani,khargone,Alirajpur etc consists of major tribal population of the state. Gond tribe concentrated mostly in western Madhya Pradesh in Districts Betul, Hoshangabad, Chhindwara, Balaghat, Shahadol, Mandla, Sagar and Damoh and on the banks of Narmada,vindhya and Satpura forms the second largest population of Madhya Pradesh and Largest in India. Kol tribe concentrated mostly in North eastern Madhya Pradesh in Districs of Rewa,Shahdol,Sidhi,Satna forms the third largest tribe of M.P. Saharia concentrated mostly in Northern Madhya Pradesh in Districts of Guna,Shivpuri,Morena,Rajgarh. Korku tribe live in Chhindawara, adjoining the forests of Satpura ranges in Bhainsdehi, Chicholi tahasils of Betul ditrict and Harda, Timarni and Khirkiya tehsils of Hoshangabad district. Baiga tribe mainly live in dense forest and hilly regions of Mandla, Dindori, Shahadol, Umaria, Balaghat and Amarkantak in Madhya Pradesh. They are considered as an offshoot of the Bhumias of Chhota Nagpur. Members of Bharia tribe mainly live in Jabalpur and Chhindwara. In Chhindwara they live in Patalkot in Tamia block.
