Walnut (Juglans sp.) is the most important temperate nut fruit of the country. The major growing area is Jammu and Kashmir, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh, with Jammu and Kashmir occupying the largest share in total area and production.
