INS Karna
An independent base of Marine Commandos (MARCOS) “INS Karna” has been commissioned by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Sunil Lanba at Bheemunipatanam Naval Base in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Captain Varun Singh will be the Commanding Officer of INS Karna. The MARCOS was established in February 1987 at INS Abhimanyu in Mumbai as the Indian Marine Special Force (IMSF). They are known to be very secretive elite soldiers and are capable of operating in all three mediums namely sea, air and land.
