What is Ken-Betwa River Link?

The Ken-Betwa river link is a proposed project to connect the Ken and Betwa rivers in India. The project involves the construction of a dam on the Ken river, which would provide water to the drought-prone region of Bundelkhand in central India. The project has been controversial, with some critics arguing that it would have negative environmental impacts and displace local communities. The project has received approval from the Indian government and is currently in the planning stages.
The Ken-Betwa river link is currently set to benefit the states of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The cost of the project, budgeted at over Rs 9000 crore, is expected to transfer surplus water from the Ken to the Betwa basin through a 221 kilometre long canal.
