The Petrapole Integrated Check Post (ICP) has been launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through video conferencing at Petrapole, West Bengal to boost India-Bangladesh trade ties. The purpose of the Petrapole ICP is to provide better facilities on the security, customs and immigration front. It will also support facilities for smooth cross-border movement of persons, goods and transport. The Petrapole ICP is the 2nd ICP on the India-Bangladesh border after the Agartala ICP at the Agartala (India)-Akhaura (Bangladesh) land border.
