The National Panchayati Raj Day (NPRD) is celebrated on which date in India?

The National Panchayati Raj Day (NPRD), also known as National Local Self-Government day, is celebrated every year on April 24 by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj in India. On this day, in 1993, the Constitution (73rd Amendment) Act, 1992 came into force that has institutionalized Panchayati Raj through the village, Intermediate and District level Panchayats. So far, NPRD was celebrated in New Delhi, but in 2016, as part of the ‘Gramoday se Bharat Uday’ Abhiyan, the NPRD has celebrated in all Gram Panchayats in the country (except in poll bound States), as Gram Sabhas were held between April 21-24, 2016 nationwide.
