The Crime Mapping, Analytics and Predictive System (CMAPS) has been operationalised by Delhi Police in partnership with ISRO for effective use of space technology-based tools for ensuring internal security using a “predictive policing” and “live crime mapping” mechanism. The system will provide real-time information from crime spots and identify gang activities. Through this system, police will be able to identify areas which has mass gathering, chain snatching, etc, using coordinates and GPS information.
