The President of Zimbabve, Mr. Robert Gabriel Mugabe (91) won the 2015 Confucius Peace Prize by China for working tirelessly to build the political and economic stability of his country, bringing peace to the people of Zimbabwe, strongly supporting pan-Africanism and African independence and making unparalleled contributions for the renaissance of African civilisation. The Prize is a Chinese alternative to the Nobel Peace Prize established in 2010 by the Association of Chinese Indigenous Arts. The award is bestowed for promotion of world peace from the 21st-century interpretation of Confucianism i.e. Universal harmony in the world.
