The National Hydro Power Corporation (NHPC) is developing the 2,000 MW Lower Subansiri Hydro Power project in Dhemaji district of Assam. The Subansiri Lower Hydro Electric project, a run-of-the-river project on Subansiri flowing through Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, is the biggest one under construction in India.
