The 14-day joint military training exercise “LAMITYE 2016” has started between the Indian Army and the Seychelles People’s Defence Forces (SPDF) at Seychelles Defence Academy (SDA), Victoria from February 15 that will be continue till February 28, 2016. The purpose of the exercise is to enhance military cooperation and interoperability between the two countries. This is the 7th edition in the series of bilateral exercises under this banner. The meaning of ‘Exercise Lamitye’ is friendship in Creole (local dialect).
