The India’s second largest IT service exporter, Infosys bagged a Rs.1,380-crore contract from the Government of India (GoI) to build technology infrastructure for Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN), a new single indirect tax structure across the country. The 5 year contract will commence from October 1, 2015. Infosys will provide the hardware and software applications for GST and also the end-to-end deployment. The GST IT system will provide a standard interface for the taxpayer viz. registration, filing of returns and payment of tax and a common and shared IT infrastructure between the Centre, the states and other bodies viz. Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
