India’s first Harbour Defence System has been commissioned at which of the following places recently?
India’s first Integrated Underwater Harbour Defence and Surveillance System (IUHDSS) has been commissioned in Kochi, Kerala. The system will enable operators to foresee and respond to surface and sub-surface threats to vital assets along the harbour and warships in the dock. Points to remember regarding IUHDSS:- a) Designed by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). b) Consists of advance sensors, coastal surveillance radars and Sound Navigation and Ranging Systems (SONAR). c) Capable of detecting, tracking, identifying and generating warning for all types of underwater and surface threats to harbour security.
