Rs.10 lakh
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will offer the insurance cover of Rs.10 lakh at a premium of one rupee from September 2016 to those railway passengers who will book their tickets through IRCTC website. The insurance cover is besides the compensation given by the Railways in case of accidents to valid ticket holders. The insurance will provide coverage against death, injury and disabilities caused due to accidents. Though, it is the passengers’ choice to opt for the insurance as it is a voluntary offer.
