The National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) is a body responsible for advising the Prime Minister on key strategic and security issues, both on domestic as well as international fronts. It is in news because of tenfold increase of fund allocation from Rs. 33 crore to Rs. 333 crore for fiscal year 2017-18. The NSCS works as an advisory group, consists of various experts on security-related matters and is headed by deputy NSA Arvind Gupta.
