Notes: Guru Arjan compiled Adi Granth (1604), the principal Sikh scripture, at Amritsar. It contains hymns by Sikh Gurus and various saints. Guru Gobind Singh later declared the Granth as the eternal Guru in 1708. Bhai Gurdas served as the scribe, not the compiler.
