Notes: The Madhya Pradesh government- run Maharshi Patanjali Sanskrit Sansthan will start a one-year diploma course on Hindu priesthood ‘Purohityam’ from July 2017. This course would be open for all irrespective of caste, gender or religion. The basic qualification needed is class X. Thus, there will be no specifications on caste as both Scheduled Caste and Brahmins can apply for the course. The candidates will be taught basics of priesthood, rituals, mantras in accordance with the Hindu tradition.
