Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary
Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary in Jharkhand started the elephant project in 1975. It covers around 195 km² across East Singhbhum and Saraikela-Kharsawan districts. The sanctuary hosts approximately 85 Indian elephants as of 2024. Dalma is located near Jamshedpur and includes the Dalma Hills. It is named after the local goddess 'Dalma Mai' and elephants migrate seasonally to West Bengal during monsoon.
