Notes: Bansagar project is located on Sone River in Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh.The project was initially called the “Dimba Project” in 1956 by the Central Water Commission. There was an agreement in 1973 between the State Governments of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar for the construction of the dam, in which the states shared the expenditure in the ratio of 2:1:1 .The project has 425MW electricity generation used totally by Madhya Pradesh. But the irrigation facilities are shared by Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Indira sagar- 1000MW capacity built by NHPC Omkareshwar-520MW Capacity built by NHPC Gandhi sagar -115MW MP Governmnet Jawahar sagar- 99 MW Rajasthan Government.
