Notes: The Second Anglo-Sikh war (1848-49) was fought between the Sikh Empire and the British East India Company. In it, Sikhs were defeated and the whole of Punjab was annexed. Rani Jind Kaur was imprisoned and the 11 year old Maharaja Duleep Singh was “kidnaped” by the British. Later, they were sent to England.
