Notes: The Union Ministry of Rural Development has flagged widespread manipulation in digital attendance under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS). The manipulation occurred via the National Mobile Monitoring Software (NMMS) App. The National Mobile Monitoring Software (NMMS) system was launched on 21st May 2021 by the Ministry of Rural Development. It allows real-time attendance of MGNREGS workers with geo-tagged photographs at worksites. It aims to increase transparency and ensure better monitoring of MGNREGS.
